Prepared in good faith and pending review by counsel. The substance reflects how the service actually operates today.
Terms of Service
1. What we provide
Rune Nexus provides managed server hosting. We allocate a container with a fixed amount of memory, install the server software and our plugins, run it, and give you a web panel with a live console. That is the whole of what we sell. We are a hosting provider, not a game publisher, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher.
2. You supply your own game data
Your server will not run a playable world until you upload a game cache. You supply that cache yourself, from a copy you already lawfully possess. We do not provide one, we cannot provide one, and support cannot send you one on request.
By uploading any file you confirm that you have the right to possess and use it, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights. You are solely responsible for the content you place on your server, including game data, plugin configuration, and anything your players create.
3. We distribute no game content and no game clients
We do not host, mirror, link to, or distribute game caches, game assets, game binaries, or game clients, and we never will. The panel can export a file containing your server's connection settings. Building a client from those settings and distributing it to your players is entirely your own activity, carried out with your own tools, and your own responsibility.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to infringe intellectual property, to attack or scan other networks, to send unsolicited bulk messages, to mine cryptocurrency, to host malware or phishing pages, to store or share sexual content involving minors, or to break any applicable law. You may not resell hosting to third parties without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend a server immediately, without notice, where it is actively causing harm: an attack in progress, a live malware host, or content we are legally required to remove. In every other case we will contact you first.
5. Copyright complaints and our designated agent
We respond to valid notices of claimed copyright infringement.
A complete notice identifies the work claimed to be infringed, identifies the material on our service with enough detail for us to locate it, gives your contact details, states that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised, states that the information in the notice is accurate, and is signed physically or electronically by you or someone authorised to act for you.
On receiving a complete notice we remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the customer. A customer who believes the removal was a mistake may send a counter notice to the same address, which we will forward to the complainant. If the complainant does not tell us they have filed a court action within the period required by law, we may restore the material.
6. Repeat infringers
We keep a record of copyright notices per account. A first complete notice is a warning. A second is a suspension of the server concerned. On a third, we terminate the account and every server on it, and we may refuse future accounts from the same person. Notices withdrawn by the complainant, and notices resolved in the customer's favour after a counter notice, do not count toward this total. We may terminate sooner where the infringement is deliberate and large scale.
7. Fees, and stopped servers
Plans bill monthly in advance at the prices published on our pricing page. A plan buys one server rather than a pool of memory to divide between several.
A stopped server is still billed. Stopping a server takes the world offline, but we continue to hold its memory allocation, its cache, its world data and its player profiles. That reservation is what you are paying for. To stop being billed for a server you must delete it in the panel, which permanently destroys its data. Stopping is not cancelling.
If a payment fails we retry and your servers keep running. If the balance remains unpaid after the grace period shown in the panel, we suspend the servers on the account. Suspension stops the worlds and does not delete anything. Paying the balance restores them.
No payment processor is connected yet, so nothing can be charged and this section describes what will happen rather than what has.
8. Trial
The trial is 7 days on a 1 GB server, with no card required, one per account. Creating additional accounts to obtain further trials is a breach of these terms. At the end of the trial the server stops and its data is held for 14 days before deletion. We tell you before that happens.
9. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms and is not yet written. Nothing has been charged, so nothing is currently outstanding under it.
10. Your data, and deletion
Your data remains yours. We copy your world's character saves, keys and configuration off the machine they run on several times a day, and keep those copies for fourteen days. Your uploaded cache is not copied, so keep the file you uploaded.
This is something we do, not something we promise. We do not guarantee that a backup exists or is usable when you need it, and you should keep your own copies of anything you cannot lose. Restoring one is a support request rather than a button, and the panel says the same on every server's settings screen.
Deleting a server removes its world, its cache and its player data, and we will not restore them to you afterwards. Copies already taken disappear as they age out of our backup retention.
11. Availability
We work to keep the service available and we do not publish an uptime guarantee. Maintenance that requires downtime is announced in advance where circumstances allow.
12. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost player data, lost progress, or lost goodwill. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Changes and termination
You may close your account at any time by deleting your servers. We may end an account for breach of these terms, and we will refund any unused prepaid time unless the breach was deliberate. If we change these terms materially we will give notice before the change takes effect.
