DRAFT

Prepared in good faith and pending review by counsel. It describes only what we actually hold today, which is less than a finished product would.

Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 August 2026Rune Nexus

This policy covers everything we hold about you. It is short because we hold little. We run no advertising, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third party scripts on the panel. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not build profiles for marketing.

1. What we hold

Account

Your email address and display name, and either a hashed password or the account identifier from Discord if you signed in with it. Signing in creates a session record. There is no card data anywhere in our systems, because payments are not connected yet.

Servers

The names you give your servers, the size you chose, which machine each runs on, and a log of actions taken on them: who started, stopped or deleted what, and when.

Preferences

Which channels you want routine messages on, what we have already told you about each server so we do not repeat it, and the result of the last delivery test you ran.

Uploaded cache

The game cache you upload, held on your server's volume so it can run. We read it during verification to confirm it is complete and matches the revision. We do not open it for any other purpose and we do not copy it elsewhere.

World data

Your world files, plugin configuration, and the player profiles your server creates. This is your data. Any personal data your players give you sits inside it, and you are its controller; we hold it so your server works.

Container logs

The output of your server process, which is what the console shows. It can include player names your server logs and errors it raises.

2. Why we hold it

To run the service you asked us to run, to know which account owns which server, to tell you when something happens to one, to answer your support requests, and to keep the platform secure. Those are the only reasons. We send messages about your servers. There is no marketing list to be added to.

3. How long we keep it

World and cache

As long as the server exists. Deleting a server removes its volumes immediately, and they are not recoverable by us afterwards.

Trial servers

A trial stops after 7 days and its data is held for 14 days, then deleted. We tell you before that happens.

Container logs

Bounded by size rather than by time: each server keeps up to four rotating files of 16 MB. A busy world discards old lines sooner than a quiet one.

Account records

As long as your account exists. There is no accounting retention obligation on us yet, because nothing has been charged.

Our database, which holds account and ownership records, is backed up daily. Your world's character saves, keys and configuration are copied off the machine they run on every six hours. Both kinds of backup are encrypted, held by Backblaze, and kept for fourteen days. Your uploaded cache is not copied anywhere.

4. Who else sees it

Backblaze

Holds our encrypted backups: account and ownership records, and your world's saves, keys and configuration. Not your uploaded cache, which is never copied off the machine your server runs on.

Discord

Only if you choose it. Signing in with Discord tells us your account identifier, and a direct message from us passes through Discord to reach you.

Our infrastructure provider

Whoever supplies the machines your server runs on.

That is the complete list. There is no payment processor and no email provider yet, because neither is connected. We will update this page before either starts handling anything.

We do not send your data anywhere else, other than where we are legally compelled to, and we will tell you if that happens unless we are barred from saying so.

5. Where it is held

Your server runs on the machine shown in the panel. Our own database runs alongside the panel. We have not settled which jurisdictions these sit in, and rather than name one we would like to be true, this section will be finished when the first production machine is bought and the answer is a fact.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to support@rune.nexus and we will answer within thirty days. Some of it you can already do yourself: deleting a server deletes its contents, and the panel exports your server's connection settings.

7. Cookies

The panel sets a cookie to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through.

8. Changes and contact

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page. Questions and requests go to support@rune.nexus.

9. What this policy does not yet say

An earlier draft of this page claimed a minimum age, described how staff access to production is controlled, and promised notice in the panel before changes take effect. None of those is enforced by anything today, so they are not claimed here. They belong in the version that goes through counsel, alongside the controller identity and the legal basis for each purpose above.
